Файл /usr/lib/libXcursor.so надо бы перенести из пакета libXcursor-devel в пакет
libXcursor. Без оного файла тема курсоров всегда core и изменению не поддается.

В Xresources указано "Xcursor.theme: jimmac" (или любая другая тема), после
startx получаем тему core.

Внутри libX11 делается dlopen("libXcursor.so"), поэтому без libXcursor.so
переключение тем курсоров не работает.
