наблюдалось порой и ранее (точно ловил на alt5), но всё не добирался посмотреть
сразу в dmesg, когда начинала резко тормозить беспроводная мыша с 2.4GHz
USB-адаптером; а там:

dmesg from the same system after power cycling

Помогло (прямщас) poweroff вместо reboot (обновлялся с alt5) -- при повторной
загрузке не вылезло "Disabling IRQ 11" при Populating /dev, oops не видно,
мышка бегает, а не ползает...

На 2.6.18-std-smp-alt8 будто не наблюдается -- закрываю как WORKSFORME.
